When Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would release on the Xbox 360 it sent waves throughout the video games industry, but they still feel they made the right decision.
We recently caught up with the game's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, at E3 and asked him whether he thought the game's sales on Xbox 360 justified its release on the platform.
"It depends," said Kitase. "In some countries and some regions Xbox 360 is really popular and in other countries it isn't. As far as we're concerned, both are extremely important and powerful consoles that we have to care about.
"Our goal is to present this new game to as many people as possible in the world, so we have to respect both platforms."
Final Fantasy XIII was initially released as a PS3 exclusive in Japan, but an Xbox 360 version was released a year later. Final Fantasy XIII-2 is also planned for release on both platforms.
