Survey Details Reasons The 3DS Isn't Selling In Japan

The past few months have been hard on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan as sales are struggling to go past the 20,000 units per week mark. It's often selling less than half as many units as the PSP.

Goo Research has decided to run a poll in order to get to the heart of the issue. They asked 1,110 people (39.5% male; 60.5% female) why they are not buying a 3DS.

The top five reasons are 1, price is high/waiting for a price drop, 2, satisfied by DS/DSi, 3, worried about eye strain, 4, worried about getting sick from the screen, and 5, too few launch titles. Some of the sillier reasons include the color I want isn't available, I'll save my money for NGP thank you very much, the buttons layout looks hard to use, and finally, waiting until my friend buys it.

Nintendo might need to up their games collection for the 3DS a bit if they want to compete with the former DS, PSP, and the future NGP. Release Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, perhaps?
