Naughty Dog only just confirmed the two leading ladies of Uncharted will be making a return in Drake's third outing. Chloe and Elena are back, although the two won't play as prominent a role as they did in Among Thieves. In any case, Naughty Dog co-president wasn't shy on saying he'd kill off one of the gals, or any lead character for that matter, if the story called for it.
"We're not dogmatic about anything," Wells said to CVG. "If that is what it takes [to advance the storyline] then that's what it takes. And not just for dramatic shock value - it would definitely have to tie into the narrative that [we're] trying to tell and expose an aspect of Drake's character that we would want to delve into."
"We are trying to keep things fresh and draw certain aspects of Nate's personality out as well as the characters he's surrounded with," he explains. "Chloe and Elena are back but they aren't the emphasis of the story the way they were in Uncharted 2. This time round the emphasis is on Victor Sullivan and his mentor/protégé relationship with Drake."
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is out November 1. The online multiplayer beta kicks off on June 28 for anyone with PlayStation Plus or a special code packed together with inFamous 2. Commoners get access to it on July 5.
