Sony Pledges Support For Indie Developers

Sony has pledged its support for independent developers and has warned the rest of the industry that without them, innovation will start to disappear.

"As an industry, we have to support those smaller teams, and let them try out their ideas. Without doing so, the whole industry will stall, in terms of innovation," said Shuhei Yoshida, the boss of Sony Computer Entertainment.

To help encourage indie developers, Sony has also tried to make development for the PlayStation Vita as appealing as possible. One way they've done this is to make the dev kits much cheaper.
