Japanese Nintendo 3DS Sales Plummet Following Price-Cut Announcement

Sales of the Nintendo 3DS in Japan halved following the announcement that the price of the system would be cut significantly in the coming months.

Last week, the Nintendo 3DS was the top selling console in Japan. However, this week the PSP regained its spot at the top as the Nintendo 3DS dropped down to fourth, acquiring only 16,415 sales.

This was to be expected, as gamers will now wait to purchase at the cheaper price, but it will come as a blow to Nintendo as they look to build momentum.
