id Software have decided to reduce the price of their iOS Rage games to absolutely free. The decision was made in response to an agreement they had made with fans on their official Facebook page, for 100,000 'Likes', the games would be free for a week.
Free games are an obvious incentive for any gamer so the 'Likes' quickly mounted up on the page until today when the agreement was met. So for the next seven days, those who own an iOS device may want to download the game while it's free.
Rage on iOS is an on-rails type shooter that gives fans an early glimpse into the post-apocalyptic world of Rage. Players must compete in a television show known as Mutant Bash TV, the aim is to run through a series of gauntlets whilst trying to score as much cash in each run. This can either be achieved through skillfully shooting the mutants that impede your path or by grabbing the conveniantly placed cash bags around the areas. Not bad for a free game.
The full retail release of Rage on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC will be available this October.
