To celebrate the release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution in both Europe and the UK today, Square Enix have released a documentary on its central theme, augmentation. But unlike the futuristic enhancements in the Deus Ex world, the documentary explores augmentation as the technology it is today.
Directed by Rob 'EYEBORG' Spence, who lost an eye in an unfortunate shotgun accident only to have it replaced with a wireless camera, the video takes a look at how augmentations are being implemented in today's society. Though the most common use of augmentation comes from the loss of a limb, it is thought that the possibility of further developments in the technology, a la Deus Ex, is very plausible.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is available now on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
