Battlefield 3 producer Patrick Bach has told the Wall Street Journal that he is "extremely nervous" about the upcoming shooter, as well as projects in general, saying that he feels "so ashamed" of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 because of the things that could've been better.
"I don't know why, but I always feel ashamed about the games I'm involved in making," said Bach. "I can't even bring myself to start up Battlefield Bad Company 2, our last game, because I feel so ashamed. I know it is a great product but still I only see the things we could have done better."
Explaining himself, Bach notes that the projects he's been involved in never seem to go over and above the goal that they aim for in regards to game design.
"I'm still extremely nervous, not about what other people will think, but about how I will feel about the game. My biggest worry is that I will feel bad about the product. For me, my job is very personal," he added.
The beta for the highly anticipated shooter was released to the public today and while it should give eager fans a taste of what's to come, Bach stressed that there is still much to be done to bring things to a satisfactory level.
"We couldn't release the game today," he said. "You can't just put the bonnet (hood) on the car and drive it out of the factory before you have assembled the stuff inside it and know that it works."
