After Keiji Inafune's departure from Capcom in October last year, it seems Mega Man has been put on the back foot. We even saw Mega Man Legends 3 cancelled back in July. According to a report by Game Blurb, Inafune actually made an offer to Capcom to finish Mega Man Legends 3.
"I told them that I was going to found my own independent company and leave Capcom," said Inafune. "However, I stated that I was ready to make a contract with them so that I could keep working on those projects that I started."
Inafune then went on to explain his thoughts at the time, detailing that he didn't to leave Capcom, but felt he had to. He said he thought:
"I really don't want to quit at this crucial moment.. but I can't keep going at Capcom. I am too tired to keep going. I wanted to leave Capcom to recharge my energy, and support Capcom from there, but it seems they don't allow it."
