Up until now publisher XSEED Games has mainly focused on the story and scenery of Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. Those wanting to know more about the battle system are in luck as we've received a brand-new batch of battle-related screenshots straight from the publisher for your viewing enjoyment.
Released in Japan last October, Solatorobo (literally translated "sky and robot") takes place in the Shepherd Republic, a series of floating islands that are populated by two distinct races of anthropomorphic dog- and cat-people. While very human-like in their nature, both of these races have evolved to use specially-built robot mechs (or Robos) in their everyday lives. As the story of Solatorobo: Red the Hunter develops further, Red and Dahak will travel throughout the Shepherd Republic, meeting new characters along the way and uncovering the truth behind a mystical artifact he has discovered.
Outside of his trusty mech the main character Dahak can only use a simple stun gun and is especially vulnerable to attacks from enemies. However, once inside his mech he can attack enemies by literally grabbing them and throwing them as he pleases with multiple upgrades and new abilities available as players progress through the game.
XSEED Games will release the title in North America on September 2011 for the Nintendo DS. Those who pre-order the title (or get one of the first print-run copies of the game) will get the same accompanying soundtrack CD that was found in the pre-order copies of the Japanese version of the game.
