Halo 4's creative director Ryan Payton has resigned from his position at 343 Industries citing key creative differences as his motivation for leaving.
According to a report from Kotaku, the move will see the ex-creative director leave 343 Industries and Microsoft in order to establish his own independent Camouflaj studio.
The move was reportedly motivated by "key" creative difference between Payton and the studio's high-ups. "The Halo I wanted to build was fundamentally different and I don't think I had built enough credibility to see such a crazy endeavour through," commented Payton to Kotaku.
"For somebody who loves this industry as much as I do and know how lucky I've been, I never thought I'd get to a point where I was so drained. That was when I knew I had to do something else."
Payton had originally left Konami to join Microsoft back in 2008. He leaves the company just one year before Halo 4's estimated 2012 release window.
