Vita's Uncharted: Golden Abyss To Be Cheaper As A Download

Reports have emerged claiming the PlayStation Vita's launch title Uncharted: Golden Abyss will be cheaper online than the in-store disc version.

Andriasang reported that the future Uncharted title's hard-copy would retail for 5,980 Yen (roughly £50) while the downloadable version will sell for 4,900 Yen (roughly £41). The report received some credibility when Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation printed a story showing a similar price discrepancy in the Vita's Hot Shots Golf 6.

In the same issue of Dengeki PlayStation, another report went on to allege that Sony's head of development, Yoshio Matsumoto had also hinted to it that current PSP owners will be able to download their current hard-copy PSP titles at a "special price."

The PlayStation Vita is set to launch in Japan on December 17, 2011, with the new handheld's European and North American launch following soon after at the start of 2012.
