The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma recently indicated that, with the completion of Skyward Sword's development, a brand new Zelda title is in the works for Nintendo's 3D-enabled handheld.
"We are already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don't think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS," said Aonuma. "We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous handhelds."
According to the producer, there is also demand for a re-release of Majora's Mask for 3DS, but since the company had recently released the critically acclaimed Ocarina of Time, "it didn't seem right launch a remake one after another." Aonuma assures fans that they are "considering the idea."
