Square Enix recently posted its financial results for the first half of the current fiscal year, reporting a fall in revenue compared to last year, but a notable rise in profits, boosting their profits forcast.
The company explained that big sales of Deus Ex: Human Revolution had helped it achieve these results. The game previously shipped over two million copies within a month of its initial release.
Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix, said, "The Group's favorable results included the major title release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution which shipped over two million units, as well as increased billing revenue from growth areas such as content for the web, smartphones, and social networking services."
Overall, the company posted revenue of 57.5 billion yen ($736.4 million), down 15 percent year-on-year, and profits of 3.7 billion yen ($47.9 million), up 115 percent year-on-year.
