Final Fantasy XIII-2 Posts Disappointing Sales Figures In Japan

Final Fantasy XIII-2 released last week in Japan and it has managed to shoot straight into the top of the Japanese software charts, at least on the PlayStation 3.

The PS3 version of the game managed to shift 525,271 units, considerably lower than its predecessor, Final Fantasy XIII, which sold just under 1.5 million in its first week. The Xbox 360 version of the game failed to even make the top 20, meaning it sold less than 28,000 units.

It will be interesting to see how the game does over its lifetime, and of course, when it releases in North America and Europe towards the start of 2012.
