Following a ton of questions from fans after the re-announcement of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Hideo Kojima took to Twitter in order to straighten a few things out.
Many of Kojima's answers were rather interesting, but he dropped the revelation that Metal Gear: Rising was secretly cancelled, until Platinum Games stepped in to offer their services. Once they did, he stated that he'd say yes as long as they could deliver "a cool Raiden who moves nice and smooth at 60 frames per second."
Kojima also revealed that Revengeance, which was chosen to reflect the rebirth of the project, will not be part of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, although it will take place in the Metal Gear universe.
"We've only said that the period setting is several years after MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is not part of the Metal Gear Solid series. At present, we can't say more than this."
