The 3DS adaptation of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has been confirmed to add many new features that weren't present in the original PS2 title. Snake Eater 3D introduces new touch-based menus, a photo-camouflage system and gyroscopic controls on top of the 3D visuals. Most recently, it's been confirmed that players will be able to opt for two additional camera views as seen in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots: a first person and over-the-shoulder camera.
On top of the two new camera options and various other features, players will also be able to crouch and walk simultaneously, another feature seen in Guns of the Patriots and Peace Walker. In related news, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima recently confirmed that the game is a remake and not a remastered port of the original. The game has been crafted from scratch and optimized for the 3DS hardware.
The final box art has also been revealed and can be seen in the image above. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is out on March 8 in Japan and no later than early 2012 for the West.
