Figures have been released from the recent PlayStation Vita launch in Japan which have revealed that Sony's new handheld failed to match figures posted by the Nintendo 3DS.
The PlayStation Vita managed to sell 312,407 units in its firs two days on sale, while the Nintendo 3DS managed to shift 371,326 when it launched in February. However, when compared to the PlayStation Portable, the Vita almost doubled initial sales. The PSP managed to sell 166,074 in its first two days.
Despite being a positive launch from the perspective of sales, consumers have been reporting freezing bugs that have locked them out of the system. Sony Japan has reported that its Vita Information Center has been receiving many inquiries.
