Indie developer Supergiant Games have revealed that they have sold more than half a million copies of Bastion, the group's hit indie title. The "major milestone" was recently achieved, largely due to the influx of hungry gamers over the course of holiday sales on Steam and Xbox Live Arcade.
With the amount of support they've garnered for the game, Supergiant are more than happy to continue doing what they do best.
"When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark," wrote Supergiant writer Greg Kasavin. "It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we're doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that."
Bastion has won many an accolade since its release, over 60 in fact. We've awarded it with an Editor's Choice, Best Indie and Best New IP of 2011. Moreover, Supergiant have earned themselves our Best Indie Developer of 2011 award!
