Following the PlayStation Vita's shaky start in Japan, there have been calls for a price cut from numerous retailers. However, Wedbush Morgan Securities videogame analyst Michael Pachter believes talk of a price cut is unfounded.
"There's no chance for a price cut," said Pachter. "The price points for software are what I expected, and highlight the disparity between casual smartphone games and premium console-quality handheld games."
Some Japanese retailers have taken to cutting the price themselves on the 3G version of the system as they look to drive more sales for the console.
