Medal Of Honor: Warfighter Announced For October

Electronic Arts have announced a new Medal of Honor game for October. Dubbed Warfighter, the first person shooter is said to run on DICE's Frostbite 2.0 engine and will be developed by Danger Close Games.

Few details were revealed on the upcoming title. Danger Close is at the frontlines of both single-player and multiplayer duty. The last Medal of Honor reboot saw Battlefield 3 developer DICE handle the multiplayer side of things while Danger close developed the single player campaign. Like the previous game, Warfighter will follow the stories of Tier 1 operatives.

Frostbite 2.0 currently powers the massive multiplayer first person shooter title Battlefield 3, as well as a number of other EA titles such as Need for Speed: The Run and the upcoming Command & Conquer: Generals 2. Rumour has it that Mirror's Edge 2 and Dead Space 3 will also run on the engine. Of course, it's just rumours.

EA will be showing more on Medal of Honor: Warfighter next month at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. For now, the latest issue of OXM has all the goods, including screenshots and interviews.
