The Lord of the Ring's Middle-Earth will soon be coming to a Skyrim near you (or at least for PC gamers) thanks to a group of modders leading the Middle-Earth Roleplaying Project (MERP), a huge undertaking of a mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The mod is now in the process of being ported over to Bethesda's Skyrim engine.
The mod aims to follow the main quest of Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship, chronicling their adventures from the Shire all the way to the fires of Mount Doom. The team is gunning to include as much lore, weapons, creatures and famous battles for players to experience.
The MERP 0.2.6 beta was recently released and is available for Oblivion players to try out. Head on over to the official project site for more information. The team is also looking for talented individuals to help out.
