Twisted Metal Delayed In Europe, Also Getting Censored

David Jaffe has revealed that Twisted Metal has been delayed in Europe because "localization is taking a touch longer" than expected. In other words, the game has been delayed because it needs to be censored.

Jaffe stated that he didn't know when the new release date would be, but the last he heard was that it would release on the 1st of March.

He then went on to explain two of the changes: "For example, in the scene we've released on the net from the intro- where the girl stabs Tooth in the eye- the SCEE version has this but we cut away right before the scissors make contact with Tooth's face."

"I think the guy on the gurney from Meat Wagon is dead so you are exploding a corpse covered with TNT vs. a screaming man trapped to the gurney. Sucks on my end but at the same time, I get it and the game play isn't different and the intent is still there, as is the humor," Jaffe continued.

If you haven't downloadedd the demo yet, it released on the PlayStation Network this week. It looks like that will have to keep you occupied until the game releases. Either that, or you can just import the North American version, which releases on the 14th of February.
