The PlayStation Vita has taken the UK video games sales charts by storm this week, with Uncharted: Golden Abyss and FIFA Football taking the top two spots away from UFC Undisputed 3 and FIFA 12.
This will be seen as a very positive step for Sony following the Japanese launch of the console, with other Vita titles also appearing inside the Top 40. Wipeout 2048 appeared in 11th position, while Ridge Racer, Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour and Everybody's Golf also registered inside the Top 40.
UFC Undisputed 3 continued its strong sales, despite being the 3rd best selling game of the week, while Rayman Origins saw a huge resurgence - another game that's featured in the PlayStation Vita launch line-up.
EA's latest reboot, Syndicate, didn't perform quite a well, appearing in 7th place during its debut week. Final Fantasy XIII-2 also dropped down further from 6th to 10th. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim also fell outside the Top 10 for the first time since its release last year.
Sony will be very pleased with the release of their latest handheld console, but next week will be just as crucial for the hardware maker as they look to erase memories of the Japanese launch.
