Ubisoft have confirmed that the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed III will be climbing a tree and jumping onto Nintendo's somewhat-next-gen console, the Wii U, alongside the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC release.
Set against the backdrop and chaos of the American Revolution, Assassin's Creed III introduces a brand new Assassin. Born of English and Native blood, the new protagonist Ratohnhaké:ton, aka Connor, will continue the fight against the Templars. George Washington and Ben Franklin are said to be notable figures players will encounter in the game.
Some new features include the ability to dual-wield a hatchet and pistol, alongside a vast array of era-specific weaponry like flint-lock weapons. The game utilizes Ubisoft's overhauled AnvilNext engine and promises higher visual quality and artificial intelligence.
"Assassin's Creed III features the franchise's most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay," said Ubi CEO Yves Guillemot. "Whether you're a longtime fan of Assassin's Creed or if you're new to the franchise, you're going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin's Creed III."
The reveal trailer is currently making its rounds and exciting fans with intense tree-top parkour.
