Capcom have retained their hope that Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be a strong performer for them, despite many big games posting poor sales figures this year.
"Our pre-order figures have given us a huge amount of confidence that the title will perform well despite the current conditions at UK retail," UK product manager Karl Reader told MCV.
Almost a year ago, Capcom stated that they expected Operation Raccoon City to sell in the millions, as they called it one of their biggest potential earners for the year. Such was their confidence in the game, that they predicted the title would sell more than another massive property in Street Fighter x Tekken.
"Consumers are buying brands they can trust. The Resident Evil brand is synonymous with high production values and quality gaming experiences. We have an extensive DLC plan to further that longevity," continued Reader.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is due to release on the 23rd of March on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. It compliments numerous Resident Evil releases in recent history, with two games appearing on the Nintendo 3DS.
