First Assassin's Creed 3 Image Leaks, Points To American Revolution

The first image of Assassin's Creed 3 has been leaked by an employee at Best Buy in North America, which shows off a new assassin wielding some rather interesting garments and weaponry.

Aside from the rather obvious American flag in the background, this new assassin is also wielding a pistol, bow and arrow and a tomahawk, with the leak also suggesting that the game will take place during the 18th century - especially the American Revolution. Those historians among us should note that the version of the American flag is the Betsy Ross flag, which featured 13 stars in a circle to represent the 13 colonies involved in the conflict.

Due to the assassin's face, it's possible to deduce that you will be playing a Native American, although he does also appear to be wearing a jacket, which looks more familiar to the opposite side in the conflict.

Official confirmation isn't expected until the 5th of March, 2012, but it has been confirmed as legitimate by US publication Game Informer, who're planning to reveal much more information about the game soon. Kotaku were the US publication who posted up the leak from Best Buy.

Ubisoft had previously announced the existence of Assassin's Creed III, which will release on the 30th of October on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
