Mass Effect 3 has managed to shoot straight to the top of the UK video games sales charts, destroying previous sales records for for the franchise at the same time.
While Chart-Track doesn't reveal sales figures, they did state that Mass Effect 3's launch saw more copies sold than Mass Effect 1 and 2 combined. They also revealed that 73 percent of the game's boxed sales came via the Xbox 360. It looks like the prospect of continuing saves was a big draw for those who started the franchise on the Xbox 360.
Street Fighter x Tekken also launched this week, and that appeared in second ahead of last week's top dog, SSX. The Sims 3: Showtime and Unit 13 were the other two new entrants into the charts, placing 6th and 15th respectively.
This was also the first week that Battlefield 3 has dropped outside of the Top 10, but Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are still holding on in there.
