The North American branch of Namco Bandai has announced that Ridge Racer Unbounded will no longer be meeting its planned release date and it's now been delayed until "later in 2012" as a result.
The move was taken to allow the development team "some additional time to pack the disc with features that will truly make the game sing."
This revival of the Ridge Racer franchise is being developed by Bugbear Entertainment, who have previously worked on games such as FlatOut and Sega Rally Revo. This gives them a wealth of experience in the arcade racing scene.
Interestingly, Namco Bandai UK has revealed that the delay to the North American version won't be affecting the European release at all. It's still planned to launch on the 30th of March on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 across the region.
