THQ has revealed that Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium will no longer be developed as an MMO. Instead, it will be re-purposed as as single player title that will feature online multiplayer.
Brian Farrell, the CEO and President of THQ explained that the move was taken due to a change in the market:
"As previously announced, we have been actively looking for a business partner for the game as an MMO. However, based on changing market dynamics and the additional investment required to complete the game as an MMO, we believe the right direction for us is to shift the title from an MMO to a premium experience with single and multiplayer gameplay, robust digital content and community features."
Dark Millennium is planned to release in Q1 2013 on the PC and it's being developed by Vigil Games and Relic Entertainment.
