Developers behind the hit Pictionary game Draw Something, OMGPOP, has just been purchased by casual games giants Zynga for around $210 million.
A report from AllThingsD stated that Zynga had laid down $180 million for the purchase and offered another $30 million in employee retention payments. No details were released on the cash/stock split.
Since the acquisition, Zynga stocks have risen 33 cents, while EA's stocks have dropped nine cents. EA acquired PopCap in July 2012.
John Reseburg, EA Corporate Communications, reassured the strength of their casual games division by saying "This reinforces the value of PopCap, a studio with multiple proven intellectual properties."
