We heard the text announcement earlier in the day, but Bethesda Softworks has now released the announcement trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online.
While the trailer shows absolutely no gameplay footage, it features an arranged version of the Elder Scrolls theme tune. There are also some nice computer graphics at play, as the Elder Scrolls Online logo comes together throughout the video.
Although not the most visually stimulating exercise, the videos is dubbed by the voice of a wise man, who issues a foreboding statement about the realm Elder Scrolls Online is set in. He rounds out the video by saying the poignant line: "Salvation cannot come from one hero alone, but from many."
Some small pieces of information were leaked out earlier, which detailed that the game would feature a heavy social side, but also PvP combat.
At present, there's been no information on the visual side of things, or what The Elder Scrolls Online will do to differentiate itself from the other major MMOs out there. We also don't know whether it will be a free-to-play experience, or whether there will be a monthly subscription fee.
The main thing we do know, is that Bethesda and Zenimax Online Studios has stated that the game's is being developed for the PC and Mac platforms, and that it is due to release at some point in 2013.
Be sure to check out the video below, so you can see the logo formation for yourselves. Enjoy.
