One of the more colourful and generally interesting moments of Microsoft's E3 2012 press conference this morning came when South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone appeared onstage to discuss their new game, South Park: The Stick of Truth. Developed by Obsidian and published by THQ, The Stick of Truth will place players in the role of a new fifth member of the South Park crew, ultimately trying to become cool - cue wacky screwball antics.
The game's trailer really brought the South Park universe to life, showing a clear attention to detail and faithful recreation of the animated TV show. With Obsidian's reputation for strong storytelling, combined with some personal oversight from Parker and Stone, the future seems bright for Stick of Truth. Hopefully THQ remains solvent long enough to see the project through to the end.
South Park: The Stick of Truth is set for a March 5th, 2013 release on Xbox 360 and PS3.
