XSEED Games and Acquire's innovative PlayStation Vita RTS/music rhytmn mashup Orgarhythm will feature a number of musical tracks, but in a rare twist the developer is allowing fans to include their own musical submissions into the final version of the game.
Orgarhythm is a unique title that combines the strategic elements of an RTS game with the speed and coordination of a music rhythm game. Troops, formations, and temporary enhancements are each assigned through rhythmic button presses on the PlayStation Vita's touchscreen, which level-up your characters when performed successfully, and level them down when presses are mistimed. Playing as the God of Light, players will battle the forces of the God of Darkness by guiding elemental soldiers and issuing rhythm-based attacks synced to a hypnotic mix of rock, club, and tribal music. In the game, rhythm is a weapon and different attacks occur on different beats, making the game's catchy soundtrack dynamic to user input.
Fans can submit their tracks from now until October 1st by posting their submissions to YouTube and submitting the link at the official contest website. Submissions can be of three lengths: one minute, three minutes, or 4.5 minutes. Music must be the applicants' own original work.
XSEED Games will release Orgarhythm in North America later this Fall as a PlayStation Network release. Until then, feel free to browse through the new screenshots below.
