Ever since its Japanese release earlier this year, fans of Atlus's Etrian Odyssey franchise, which started back on the Nintendo DS, have been wondering when the publisher would announce their localization plans for the newest Nintendo 3DS entry. That time is now, as the game has now been officially announced for North America.
Etrian Odyssey IV plays similarly to its predecessor with an tough, old-school dungeon RPG feel where one false move can sound defeat. New to this entry is the ability to see the infamous F.O.E. super enemies on the dungeon map and a new newbie-friendly mode which takes you back to the town when you die (instead of getting a game over) and gives you an item to whisk you out of the dungeon at any time. Also, you get to ride in a hot air balloon!
Atlus will release Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan in early 2013 exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS.
