Thanks to a new deal that's been signed between Blizzard Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment, Diablo 3 will be releasing on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Diablo 3 was a massive hit when it released exclusively on the PC last year, selling 3.5 million units on its first day - a new record for the platform. Since then, and even before the game's release, Blizzard always remained coy on whether the game would appear on home consoles. And they confirmed that indeed, a console version was in development over a year ago, although that was later clarified by a Blizzard spokesperson as being misinterpreted.
The new deal, which at present sees Diablo III only appearing on Sony platforms, was announced during last night's PlayStation Meeting by Chris Metzen. At present, there is no news about when either version will appear, but the PS4 has a prospective release date of Q4 2013.
