Blake Jorgensen, EA's Chief Financial Officer recently talked at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference about the companies future with microtransactions. Jorgensen said that the decision was made as a result of users who "embraced the controversial model.
Jorgensen continued on to say:
[
]We are building into all of our games the ability to pay for things along the way; to get to a higher level,[
]
[
]And consumers are enjoying and embracing that way of business.[
]
This is an interesting move on EA's part especially after the outcry from fans after Dead Space 3 had microtransactions in the game. Still as long as people keep buying something they will keep making it an option and the only way for it to really go away is to have everyone speak with their wallets.
As of now EA has yet to comments on Jorgensen's comments about microtransactions. How would you feel about seeing more full priced games contain microtransactions in them in the future for all of EA's games? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
