The Next PlayStation Looking To Cost Around $400

The Asahi Shimbun reported on the next PlayStation systems price point for Japan and the price will be over 40,000 Yen. This is around $428 and is the first time we have heard anything on the systems price over the past few years. It would show that Sony is not scared to take a loss on their next major console when compared to the Wii U and Microsoft's next console.

Sony seems to be learning from their mistakes with the launch of the PlayStation 3 back in 2006. The console cost around $599 and Sony was very slow to finally lower the price to a level that consumers were willing to purchase the system at.

The February 20th PlayStation meeting will be sure to finally clear up many question about the company's next system if that what it end up being about. Would you be willing to purchase a new PlayStation around a $400 price point or do you still plan on waiting till more news surfaces about the console? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
