After Final Fantasy IV released last year for smart phones a teaser image for Final Fantasy V arrived, but now Square Enix has revealed details on a new port for the game. Instead of getting a 3D remake Final Fantasy V will be getting all the content from the Gameboy Advance version of the game, but with an updated visuals similar from Final Fantasy Dimensions.
The biggest stand out different with this remake comes in the game's text windows. The in game characters portraits are now replaced with illustrations from Yoshitaka Amano. You can compare the differences from the GBA and Smartphone versions below.
Final Fantasy V will release in Japan on iOS at the end of March and sometime this summer for Android. There is no word on a western release for this remake, but expect to hear from Square Enix soon, as the company isn't shy of the mobile game market (cough cough ATB cough cough).
Final Fantasy VI has also been teased to receive the same treatment later on. How do you feel about this kind of remake for Final Fantasy V happening and not similar to FFIII/IV? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
