The studio behind Star Wars 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault, LucasArts is being shut down by thier newly acquired owners Disney. This news comes through a LucasArts representative who had this to say:

[
]After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.[
]

Coming off this news, both of LucasArts' titles listed above have now been canceled. On top of that around 150 people who worked at the studio have now been laid off.

LucasArts has been making memorible games for many years and it is really a shame to see such a talented studio just go away like this. Do you have any LucasArts memories from the companies past or have an opinions on Disney's disicion? LEt us know what you have to say in the comments below.
