Indie devs just can't seem to catch a break with Microsoft's consoles. Matt Booty of Microsoft confirmed that all developers will still need publisher assistance to sell their games online for the Xbox One.
This means that self-publishing is not an option for developers which is a huge part of what makes indie developers independent. This is a somewhat strange business decision for the powerhouse company to take considering that both Nintendo and Sony have begun to embrace the indie developers desire for creative freedom.
While the decision is not yet set in stone, Microsoft did not detail if they would consider allowing self-publishing either.
