To continue on with the flurry of news about Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix confirmed that the game will be available on the PlayStation Network on the same day as the boxed release.
Square Enix had previously announced that Lightning Returns would be seeing a digital release, but they wouldn't answer when exactly it would become available in relation to the retail release.
At present, there's no confirmation about whether this is just for the PlayStation Network, or whether the game will also be appearing as a launch day downloadable game on the Xbox Live Marketplace. We'll contact Square Enix to see if we can get any additional information about this.
Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is releasing on the 11th of February in North America and the 14th of February, 2014 in Europe. It'll be appearing on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
If you're interested in pre-ordering the game, Square Enix has offered up a rather cool incentive. For a limited time only, those who pre-order will receive an outfit which sees Lightning donning Cloud Strife's famous garb, with the Buster Sword included too. It'll also enable you to level up faster. To pre-order the game, you can go here for the UK and here for the US.
Square Enix also released a new trailer for Japan Expo 2013, which shows off a rather familiar face. Yes, Fang will be returning as a character in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which is a rather interesting move. You can check out the latest trailer below:
