It was revealed today that Arc System Works is working either on a sequel or an expansion to Persona 4 Arena. According to Famitsu, the game will receive new characters including Yukari Takeba and Junpei Iori from Persona 3.
These 2 new characters will feature styles and systems unique to Persona 4 Arena. Yukari is a really fast character, specializing in bow and close range jump attacks, while Junpei is more of a power-type character, armed with a bat, and apparently has a baseball-style combo buff. Famitsu also revealed that the characters from Persona 4 Arena will be getting new moves and skills, as well as some tweaks to the fighting systems, including charged special moves.
This new fighter will allow players to select either Normal or Shadow types of fighter. Normal grants Bursts whereas Shadow enables Shadow Rage, an ability that temporary allows unlimited use of SP Skills, Skill Boosts, etc for mega combos.
No release date has been given for the new Persona 4 Arena game/expansion. Persona 4 Arena is now available in all regions for PS3 and Xbox 360.
