Neil Druckmann, Creative Director of The Last of Us, and Bruce Straley, Game Director, revealed today that the first details about the additional content for the PS3 exclusive will be revealed this month. Druckmann also talks about a possible sequel and the end of the game.
Asked about downloadable content, the producers don't reveal much details about it, replying that "News is on the way about the first DLC drop, should hear about it this month." All we know is that Naughty Dog is currently working on additional content for the solo campaign and two packs for the multiplayer mode, both included in the Season Pass. The multiplayer pack most likely will focus around new maps, while the single-player campaign will see several characters from the game making a return.
Neil Druckmann also revealed that Naughty Dog initially had planned a much happier ending, "Originally, Ellie and Joel were driving completely contented and satisfied with their adventures off into a glorious sunset...But that didn't feel right. It just wasn't honest to the world or the characters we created."
When asked about additional story content focusing on the two main characteres, Druckmann said, "It's possible. We're playing with some ideas, but no direction has been set yet for the next game." Maybe this might mean we will see a sequel to The Last of Us soon? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
