Despite being a very popular franchise in Japan, Sega's HD remake for the original two Yakuza games has seen very poor sales in its first week.
Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2 HD were released by Sega on the Nintendo Wii U as a bundle, offering high-res textures and a first-change for Nintendo gamer's to play the huge successful open world adventure title. However, despite the franchise's past successes, the HD collection only managed didn't even manage to sell 2,000 copies in its first week.
These sales figures mean that the collection didn't even appear inside the Japanese Top 50, placing it below Battlefield 3 and Metro: Last Light.
The Yakuza franchise has always suffered when it comes to localisation, with Westerners not often able to play the main series games until at least a year after their Japanese release. And with sales figures like this, it's unlikely Sega will want to even think about porting this game.
