On August 27th, Square Enix had to confront the fact that their servers were not prepared for the flood of online gamers coming to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Today that issue will be resolved with a update beginning at 3p.m.(PDT).
As a little consolation for their patients, players will also be treated to an extra week of play for free. Players who have yet to register will also be able to partake of this small gift provided that they register by September 9th before 11:59 p.m.(PDT).
Gifts such as these are no surprise to those who played the original Final Fantasy XIV as they were given extended free access to the MMO while Square Enix corrected it's many bugs and horrible menus.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is available on the PS3, PC, and will later be available for the PS4.
