Mewtwo Has Two Mega Evolutions

Not content with the current list of Mega Evolutions, GameFreak has done the unexpected. There will be not one, but two Mega Evolutions for the highly popular Pokémon, Mewtwo.

Introducing, Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y. This also means that there are two Mewtwonite Mega Stones in Generation VI for Mewtwo to use called Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y. Unlike the sleek Majin Buu look of Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X has a more beefy appearance. That is due to the fact that this particular Mega Evolution gives Mewtwo the Psychic/Fighting type combo to compliment his brute strength. One of the new moves Mega Mewtwo X will be able to use is Giga Impact. Also to note are the differences in Abilities from the forms of Mewtwo. Regular Mewtwo has Pressure, Mega Mewtwo X has Steadfast, and Mega Mewtwo Y has Insomnia.

While showing the combat abilities of Mega Mewtwo X, another Pokémon's Mega Evolution was revealed. This Pokémon is none other than the walking shark, Garchomp. With a more hard edge look, Garchomp is a Dragon/Ground type to be feared. His Sand Veil ability is also replaced with Sand Force to add an extra edge in battles.

With only a few weeks until the release of Pokémon X and Y, fans have much to look forward to. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y release globally on October 12th on the Nintendo 3DS.
