With the launch of the Xbox One approaching quickly, Major Nelson of Microsoft in a video gave a walkthrough of the Friends App that will be on the new system. Combing the better elements of social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook, the Friends App holds many features that are sure to please fans.

As mentioned earlier, the Friends App has many similarities to other forms of social media, but with a more streamlined approach. There are the familiar features that are used in Twitter such as following someone without them actually receiving your status updates unless they follow you back. You can also block others from following you if you desire. If someone becomes your friend you can view their friends, followers, recent activity, achievements, uploads, and so forth. The Friends App will also feature an activity feed which can snap onto the side of the screen. This will provide real time updates on your friends' activities.

The favorites list was also talked about by Major Nelson. Nelson described the favorites list as a way to place your core friends in a single group to quickly access them when you want to see what they are up to.

Also worth mentioning is the user interface of the Friends App. All in all the app appears clean, uncluttered, and very easy to navigate.

As the November 22nd launch date of the Xbone approaches, future owners can look forward to another great looking feature exclusive to the Xbox One.
