Xbox One's And PS4's Specs Are Now Almost Identical, Says Shinji Mikami

Ever since both the Xbox One and PS4 have been announced, many people believe that the PS4 is the superior console, something that Microsoft always denied, saying both consoles are similar. Despite many game developers saying that the PS4 has better specs, Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil and The Evil Within stated that right now, both consoles are almost identical.

"We only need one console. Why do I have to make two versions of a game? And when Xbox One was first announced it had lower specs than PS4, but now they're almost identical. So either will do. If you get down to the tiny details then maybe each is better at one thing than the other, but it doesn't really impact the way you make a game. It's not like PS4 or Xbox One are particularly hard to develop for. Quite the opposite: you can make whatever you want on either one, and that should be enough for anyone," said Mikami to Edge.

Despite Mikami's words, we have to keep in mind that he doesn't show any solid proof to back his claim, and just like him, many developers recently have stated their opinion about both consoles, with the large majority saying that the PS4 is superior.

The Xbox One is scheduled to release on the 22nd of November in 13 countries, arriving in the rest of the world in 2014. The PS4 will be released on the 15th of November in North America, arriving at Europe two weeks later, on the 29th of November.
