Microsoft has announced that Twitch broadcasting via the Xbox One won't be available when the console launches on Friday. Instead, Microsoft hope this feature will be available in the first part of 2014.
The news came via a statement on Xbox Wire, Microsoft's official news portal for the Xbox brand. They said "We know the ability to instantly broadcast gameplay is something the gaming community is excited about, and we are too.
"We are working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community, so while this feature won't be available right away, we'll let you know as soon as it is ready. Our goal is to deliver it during the first part of 2014."
This news could be a huge blow to Xbox One, especially given its position as a social console. The delay also plays in the hands of Sony, with the PS4 able to live-stream via Twitch with no reported issues.
Despite this news, the Xbox One will still have a Twitch app, but it will only be used for viewing content provided by people playing on other platforms.
